The Voices of Queens

I am so happy to finally share the work I did for SIX the musical -teen edition presented by Voices Amplified in the Lexington Scottish Rite concert hall. For this project I was tasked with creating projection to be used throughout the performance as well as creating portraits of the cast as the historic figures they were playing. I created a stained glass window that was designed to blink and flash. Like concert stage lighting and could be synced to the music with midi controllers that I ran backstage. Each Queen had a specific coler way and energy to the projection based on the songs tempo and mood. For the portraits I was given headshots of the lead actors and I digitally painted them into the bodies from the historic painting of the actual Queens. Check out each of the characters below as well as a still of the window. I’ll collect some shots of the stage and post those later on.

My love of art and problem solving leads me to the most interesting and challenging projects. This crew of talented up and coming actors and technicians was so inspiring to see and be a part of and I can’t wait to do another show despite still having those songs stuck in my head.
